English Toffee
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of margarine
3 TBL water
1 TSP vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Combine sugar, margarine, water, and vanilla in saucepan. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly to hard cracked stage….300 to 310 on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and pour onto greased cookie sheet. While hot cover with chocolate chips and spread and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Break into pieces when cool.
